We are immediately hiring for a Purchasing Agent at a local manufacturer in Dothan, AL. In this position, you will play a crucial role in operations by managing supplier relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring efficient inventory management.
Pay will start at $14.00 per hour and you will be working a Monday-Thursday 7am-4 : 30pm and Friday 7am-11am schedule. Excellent benefits are offered including comprehensive health insurance, disability insurance, and an IRA plan!
Key Responsibilities :
Research potential vendors and evaluate their products and services.
Negotiate contract terms and pricing with suppliers.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery to meet operational needs.
Maintain accurate records of purchased products, delivery details, and invoices.
Prepare comprehensive reports on purchasing activities and cost analyses.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with warehouse teams for proper storage.
Handle discrepancies in orders such as non-supplied, under orders, over orders, and damaged goods.
Schedule deliveries for supplies, materials, equipment, and services.
Skills and Qualifications :
Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Ability to work effectively under deadlines.
High school diploma / GED
