Executes medical regimens prescribed by a licensed physician, dentist or other licensed health care provider legally authorized under the NYS Education Department and in accordance with NYS Department of Health regulations.

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required. For employees in position before 9 / 12 / 2014, requirements are : Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required, if absent must be obtained in time to meet the certification requirement.

Certified Diabetes Educator required upon hire. For employees in position before 9 / 12 / 2014, requirements are : Certified Diabetes Educator preferred, if not certified upon hire or appointment to the position, certification is expected within three (3) years of the date of hire or appointment to the position.

Previous diabetes teaching experience preferred.For Registered Nurse clinical positions, internal applicants must have been employed in the same job title as the per diem position for which they are applying or in a comparable area of practice.

Internal applicants must have a minimum of nine (9) continuous months of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted.

External applicants must have a minimum of one (1) continuous year of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted.
