The National Intelligence University (NIU) is the Intelligence Community's sole accredited, federal degree-granting institution.
It serves as the intellectual hub for the intelligence profession, preparing today's leaders for tomorrow's challenges.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
The National Intelligence University is seeking a Research Faculty member with subject-matter experience and expertise in data science and analysis and / or artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Conduct original research, assist with NIU Research Fellows, support faculty development opportunities and curriculum development, and lead collaborative research activities.
Ensures, along with VP, Research, that research sponsored, conducted, or published by the NIU Office of Research is aligned with ODNI and IC strategic priorities.
Support academic activities by teaching courses and guest lecturing, as well as providing curriculum advice.
Effectively interface with current students, faculty / staff, community partners and stakeholders, and other audiences providing expertise to the NIU community and broader IC.
Participate in academic outreach. Chair or co-chair Research Center in the Caracristi Institute or serve in a coordinating role for interagency research activities.
Gathers information for research on specific intelligence areas of concerns.

Minimum Qualifications Required Mandatory Requirements :
Knowledge and understanding of academic research and / or intelligence community analytic reporting.
Expertise in data science / analysis and / or artificial intelligence / machine learning in a national security context.
Strong writing skills with knowledge of appropriate literature and citation and bibliography formatting.
Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills and initiative in carrying out responsibilities.
Experience managing collaborative research projects with intelligence community and / or national security analysts and researchers.
Collaborative team player with great networking skills.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and advise students and colleagues.
Master's degree in a related field.
Desired Requirements :
Extensive knowledge of technical processes, techniques, and hardware and software tools related to the field of expertise.
Doctoral Degree related to the field.
Conditions Applicants from federal agencies within the Intelligence Community (IC) may be considered for this position as a reimbursable detailee, if endorsed by the employing agency.
Applicants must have current TS / SCI clearances with polygraph or have the ability to obtain one. The ODNI does not conduct polygraphs or provide security clearances for detailees.
