Summary / Purpose :
The Head Women’s Bowling Coach performs all responsibilities including planning, coaching, recruiting, managing and directing the Bowling program.

Recruits Student Athletes to participate on the women’s Bowling team
Represent the University of Bridgeport and the Athletic Department in a positive manner with a high degree of integrity and quality.
Promote and support the University of Bridgeport and its mission.
Promote and support the University of Bridgeport Athletic Department’s program mission and goals.
Promote Women’s Bowling
Provide leadership in the planning and operation of the program
Administer the women’s bowling program within the policies of University of Bridgeport, team conference, and the NCAA.
Organize and facilitate all daily practice sessions, contest preparation, competition and off-season training.
Adhere to operating, equipment and scholarship budgets as established by the Athletic Department.
Delegate responsibilities to assistants, student coaches, and squad members.
Develop and maintain a successful recruiting system while maintaining a high level of visibility.
Assist in promotion and public relations activities for the University of Bridgeport Athletic Department.
Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Athletics
Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
Other Functions :
Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity.
Ability to recruit and retain student athletes
Coaching and / or participation at collegiate level preferred; demonstrated ability and passion to coach bowling
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications :
Education, Training and Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred;
- CPR / AED certification;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Coaching and / or participation at collegiate level preferred; at least 2-4 years- experience preferred
Knowledge and experience in bowling
- Ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends;
- Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and meet University of Bridgeport’s Driving Requirements;
- Willingness to fundraise;
Ability to interact with all levels of the university community.

Depth perception ( three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and
spatial relationships)
