Responsibilities
River Park Hospital is looking for a PRN, as needed, Dietary Assistant.
JOB PURPOSE : Cleans and sanitizes eating and serving utensils. Also cleans and sanitizes patient food carts, pushcarts and the dish room, including the inside and outside of the dishwasher.
Replenishes all condiments and dairy products in the patient tray line area and the Cafeteria. Completes sanitation assignments throughout the department, and assists the Lead Cook in maintaining department-wide sanitation standards.
Assists with delivery of patient food carts and trays. Completes patient tray line porter position duties. Delivers patient food carts as needed.
Completes all trash removal duties, including the cleaning and sanitation of all trash receptors.
Qualifications
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS : High School Diploma Or GED. Experience : Two years’ experience in a health care institution preferred.
Is able to operate kitchen equipment relating to preparing meals and dish washing.Has a working knowledge of therapeutic diets and kitchen sanitation procedures.
Other : Clear verbal communication skills required. Organizational skills and confidentiality are required. Contacts : Reports to the Manager of Dietary Services or designee.
Interacts regularly with nursing staff, department staff, vendors and support staff. Environmental Demands : Physical surroundings are comfortable, with limited exposure to injury to other hazards.
Manual Dexterity Required : Ability to move arms freely to clean in various areas.
