A day in the life

As the Operations Finance Manager, you will be a key partner to the Operations team supporting all financial aspects of their business units to ensure high financial oversight, cost optimization, planning, and analysis.

This is a role that is externally focused and enables the Operations and Local Factory teams to accelerate operational efficiency and financial optimization.

You will need to have strong analytical skills, business acumen, and strong communication skills. In this position, you will work within the Finance department with a high level of exposure to Senior Management including the CFO, VP of Operations, and Plant Leadership.

What you will be doing

  • Provide financial support to the Operations department.
  • Lead and develop the team of Plant Financial Analysts.
  • Oversee and / or prepare the monthly KPIs from the manufacturing facilities; including, but not limited to : Cost of Goods Produced, operating variances in volume, spending, labor efficiencies, and material, and indirect costs.
  • Understand and present monthly manufacturing variances in a manner that can be comprehended by various levels of management, ultimately leading to process improvement.
  • Support key finance / company-wide planning processes including : Annual budget and latest estimates throughout the year.

Monthly / weekly KPI reporting. Support of various additional operational reviews.

  • Responsible for all month-end accounting activities ensuring accuracy of Income Statement as well as Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Create ad hoc reports as needed by supported departments and Finance Senior Management.

Do you have what it takes?

Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field of study.
  • 5 years of financial management experience.
  • Experience leading or managing teams.
  • Strong Operations Finance experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong understanding of databases and Business Intelligence tools (SAP BI, Hyperion, Cognos preferred).
  • Willingness to drive and implement change.
  • Team player who leads by example.
  • Willingness to travel (domestically) up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications)

  • Master’s degree
  • SAP & SAP-BI experience
  • Cost Accounting experience
  • Experience with standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing teams.
  • FMCG / CPG experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and technical ability.
  • Outstanding leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to lead informal teams.
  • Proven track record of developing high-potential talent.
