Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Job Summary : SEACORP is seeking a Surface Ship Combat Systems Software Engineer to join our Combat Systems group. The Software Engineer plans,conducts, and coordinates software development activities.
Job Responsibilities include :
- Designs, develops,documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematicalsolutions to business / mission problems or questions in computer language forsolutions by means of data processing equipment.
- Applies the appropriatestandards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle.
- Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter tobe programmed in business / mission applications, information processingtechniques used, and information gathered from system users to developsoftware.
- Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compilesdocumentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities toresolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input dataacquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Ensures software standardsare met.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’sDegree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentengineering / technical degree with a concentration in computer science courses.
Experience : The candidate should have at least three years’ experienceand proven performance in software engineering, including problem analysis andresolution, requirements analysis and definition, design, code, and integrationtesting.
Proven ability to take responsibility for significant tasks, completethem on schedule and document and present the results.
Ideal candidates will have the following :
- Proven knowledge and experience applying design patterns and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with C++ and / or Java.
- Candidate should be familiar with RedHat Enterprise Linux and git.
- Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration preferred.
- Experience with combat systems, control systems, QT, GPB, and AMQP is preferred.
- Experience with Database technologies such as Oracle, MariaDB, or MySQL
- Prior experience with naval combat control systems a plus.
- Security Clearance is desired.
