POSITIONSUMMARY :

The DSM role requiresexceptional management of sale performance among MAs. This positionis responsible for coaching, mentoring and developing the talent oftheir sales associates to achieve planned case growth and GP$growth within theirdistrict.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Managesthe performance and development of Marketing Associates within thedistrict.
  • Engages in one-on-one coaching anddirection by conducting at least 5 half day MA work-with's aweek.
  • Effectively lead and facilitate Fridaydistrict meetings that educate, motivate and ultimately produce keybehavior changes to drivesales.
  • Lead and directCustomer Engagement efforts by enabling the district MA to provideSysco customers with expanded service channel options (e.

g. SalesCoordinator, Sysco Market and Sysco Mobile) - Requires deepknowledge of Sysco Market and SyscoMobile

  • Leverages the Director of BusinessResources to maximize the consultative time of the MA througheffective usage of sales support resources to grow profitablesales
  • Fully leverages Sysco 360 in themanagement of MA's sales planning, prospecting and daily customerengagement and expects productive utilization of Sysco 360 amongall MAs.
  • Successfully delivers Sysco brandresults and directly manages CatMan conversion opportunities withinthe district.
  • Supports and promotes allnational campaigns and promotions (e.g. - Quarterly promotions,Test drive)
  • Accountable for providing coaching,training, and timely feedback to drive sales associate developmentof consultative selling skills of the sales associates (salesprocess).
  • Fully utilizes the CMP process tomanage performance of all sales associates in thedistrict

  • Per direction of the VP of Sales, fullyleverages Territory Planning data for all territory / customerschanges or allocations
  • Directly manages andengages critical / developing customer accounts, and ensure propermanagement of all other accounts in thedistrict.
  • Per direction of the VP of Sales;implements changes to programs or process; ensuring all salesassociates achieve required behavior changes and performancemetrics within the district
  • Additional salesmanagement responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ARManagement & Operational Issues
  • Directlymanage the performance and duties of the salescoordinator

QUALIFICATIONS :

BasicQualifications :

2 or more years'experience successfully growing profitable sales in the foodserviceindustry.

PreferredQualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in arelated field (e.g. business administration) or equivalenteducational level preferred.
  • 5+ years' foodservice sales experience in the food serviceindustry.

Educationand / or Experience :

High Schooleducationrequired.

  • Excellent interpersonal skillsand ability to work with a variety of stakeholders; can deriveinsights from others through probing questions and collaborativeproblem solving
  • Excellent organizational andproject management skills, including the ability to executemultiple initiatives autonomously;

  • Ability to use Sysco'sproprietary CRM tool for planning and forecasting salesgrowth
  • Demonstrates mastery of skills in thearea of consultative selling, marketing principles, prospecting,networking, coaching and negotiations
  • Abilityto effectively coach, counsel, train and directassociates
  • Ability to supervise and motivateothers
  • Ability to write reports and businesscorrespondence
  • Develop new business, penetrateexisting accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitablesales growth and special objectives within assignedterritory.

  • Research customer business needs anddevelop a mix of products and service to meetneeds.
  • Evaluate market trends and recommendproducts to customers, based on business needs andgoals.
  • Be informed of market conditions,product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales;share information with customers as part of value-added servicesprovided.
  • Answer customers' questions aboutproducts, prices, availability, and product uses. Provide productinformation and practical training to customerpersonnel.
  • Communicate and collect accountsreceivable as necessary, working with the credit department andclient; collect all balances due based on approved creditterms.
  • Manage deliveries to the routingschedule published by the transportation department; troubleshootany problems that occur during the order process (for example, outof stock items, special order items, low inventory,etc.).
  • Participate in company functions,promotions, customer visits, and customer events. Attend andparticipate in general sales and districtmeetings.
  • Review and analyze daily and weeklyreports such as special order requests, customer bid files, andsales / gross profit margin data.
  • Performadministrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports,maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests,preparing sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filingreports.
  • Participate in ongoing trainingsessions.
  • Assist with the training of newemployees asrequested.
