Overview

The Behavior Treatment Technician at Genesee Community Services plays a crucial role in providing behavioral intervention services to individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges in a clinic setting.

Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) the Behavior Treatment Technician implements behavior intervention plans and provides direct support to clients, contributing to their overall progress and well-being.

Key Responsibilities for a Behavior Technician

• Direct Client Support : Provide one-on-one support to clients during therapy sessions, helping them develop adaptive behaviors and skills.
• Data Collection and Analysis : Accurately record and track client behavior and progress during therapy sessions, ensuring data integrity for analysis by the supervising BCBA.
• Behavioral Observation : Observe client behavior closely, identifying triggers and patterns to inform treatment strategies.
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) : Execute strategies outlined in BIPs designed by the supervising BCBA to address behavioral goals and objectives.
• Communication : Maintain open communication with supervisors, team members, and caregivers regarding client progress, concerns, and any relevant information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges preferred
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping individuals with special needs achieve their full potential.
• Reliable Transportation, Valid Driver's License, and Proof of Auto Insurance
