GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION :
The Human Resources intern will focus on people-related policy review and development. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain practical experience in HR policy creation and implementation.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for human resources or related industry, excellent communication skills, and a desire to contribute to the development of organizational policies that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in HR policy development and work closely with experienced HR professionals and receive mentorship and guidance.
This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that impact the organization’s culture and employee experience.
The intern will gain exposure to various aspects of human resources management. Depending on intern capability and interest, this internship can be extended to include other related HR projects.
Responsibilities
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Collaborate with HR team members to review and analyze existing policies, identifying areas for improvement, consolidation, or updates.
- Draft new HR policies and procedures in alignment with legal requirements, company values, and industry trends.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and ensure policy alignment with various departmental needs.
- Assist in researching best practices and industry standards related to HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of policy changes and updates, ensuring accessibility and compliance.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team in adding updated policies to appropriate websites and other files.
- Research and review most accessed HR policies and other information and make recommendations for new ways to share information with and / or make information accessible for employees.
- May use updated policies to create Knowledge Articles for use on HR Website or other platforms.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree candidate
- Basic analytical and communication skills
- Attention to detail with the ability to collect and record information from a wide variety of sources
- Ability to use standard office tools and software (MS-Office)
- Must be reliable and able to set consistent work hours
- Related experience preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Strong interest in human resources policy development and a desire to learn and grow in this area.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
