Position Overview :
The primary responsibility of the Host Lounge is to be the first and last point of contact with Hotel / Casino guests and is responsible for greeting, seating, and saying goodbye to guests while providing unmatched service in every interaction.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Responsible for providing exclusive, elevated guest service.
- Strive to exceed guest expectations, prioritize the experience of the guest, and continuously provide a high-class experience.
- Greet, seat, and says goodbye to the guest upon their departure by using the guest’s name when known and encourages them to return.
- Assist guests with reservations via phone and in person.
- Maintain reservation list and negotiate table minimums based on volume and demand.
- Communicate reservation and guest requests with the cocktail servers.
- Assist Manager with table management to maximize seating.
- Assist guest with special requests.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities :
- Address guests in a warm, friendly, positive, and professional manner.
- Ensure that all controls with respect to alcohol consumption are always adhered to i.e., notifying management of intoxicated guests, etc.
- Consistently maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, posture and hygiene adhering to Company appearance standards and the theme of the venue.
- Provide accurate directions and information for guest inquiries and is knowledgeable about all aspects of The Venetian Resort services, features, attractions, promotions, and special events.
- Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications :
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization / eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness Card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 1 year work experience as host person in a sophisticated, high-end ultra-lounge or restaurant preferred.
- Exhibit phone etiquette, organizational skills, basic computer knowledge (incl. reservations management system) and food / wine service knowledge.
- Requires the ability to multi-task, work efficiently and within a team environment.
- Must have a basic knowledge of attractions / restaurants in the Las Vegas area and provided by The Venetian Resort.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
