Job Description :
This position is contingent upon contract award.
The Safety Manager is responsible for the management and administration of the safety program to ensure a safe and compliant work environment to include modification of safety-related activities and plans to specific contracts in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain applicable safety and health procedures and practices in compliance with corporate, state, federal and local regulations and contract requirements.
- Promote occupational safety programs, procedures and activities.
- Promote an OSHA compliant culture throughout the organization. Facilitate safety process development, implementation, and compliance of all subcontracts.
- Manage safety audit program for contract locations to ensure compliance with various contractual, regulatory and company requirements.
- Participate and support integration at the site level to address site-related safety, quality, health and welfare to include environmental concerns.
- Provide guidance to managers and supervisors to assist in the interpretation and compliance of safety and health-related contract requirements.
- Coordinate investigations for injury, property damage and vehicle incidents to ensure thorough investigations and appropriate root cause identification.
- Conduct special evaluations and internal safety and health surveys / audits.
- Compile reports and findings of surveys and audits for review and make corrective action recommendations and tracks to closure.
Manage work site safety operations.
Requirements :
- Must have a BS in a Safety related safety / environmental related field or equivalent applied field experience within safety and quality control aspects.
- Training in safety / environmental courses, seminars, or certifications, i.e. OSHA and General and Construction, Hazwoper.
- Experience with the operations and maintenance of military equipment such as weapons and vehicles.
- Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, DOT, and NFPA Regulations.
- Professional safety training and 3-5 years' experience in demanding and diversified safety environments.
- Accomplished written and oral presentation skills in developing safety training materials.
- Hands-on experience in emergency response or investigation.
- Required to maintain a SECRET clearance.
