Johnson Service Group is seeking a Accounting Assistant I for a 6 month contract assignment.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :
The Accounting Assistant provides administrative support for the accounting staff. Primary duties include general clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, routing mail, assisting on payment runs, corresponding with other departments or vendors, gathering document approvals and other duties as needed.
The Accounting Assistant will also serve as backup for certain accounting processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Maintain organized accounting records by scanning, copying and filing documents. Pull documents as needed for internal review or audit support.
- Assist with preparing forms and obtaining approvals. May correspond with vendors or internal parties to obtain the necessary information.
- Assist with payment runs by organizing support, matching documents to payments, obtaining approvals, making copies and filing documents upon completion.
- Mail payments to vendors and retrieve incoming mail.
- Assist with entering invoices into accounting system and posting for payment.
- Provide backup support for coding and posting daily cash as received.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
- Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
- Ability to meet stringent deadlines and respond to requests on short notice.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organizational and time management skills a must.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Required :
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have (3) years related experience.
- Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites.
- May require a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level.
