Role Description :
Arcadis is seeking a qualified Construction Inspector to join our team for a significant tunnel project in the New York / New Jersey area.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a landmark tunnel project and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety in construction.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in similar projects and a keen eye for detail.
Role Accountabilities :
- Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Monitor and document progress, quality of workmanship, and adherence to approved methodologies.
- Identify and report on non-conformance issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Verify materials and equipment used in construction meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to resolve inspection issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, reports, and documentation.
- Assist in conducting safety inspections and ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel on-site.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to address technical queries and ensure project requirements are met.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on construction progress and quality assurance.
Required Qualifications :
Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with specific experience in large shafts, excavation, and ideally tunneling.
Key Skills and Abilities :
- Proven ability to conduct thorough inspections and enforce compliance with construction standards.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Previous experience working on tunnel projects or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools for documenting inspections and managing construction activities.
