The center’s current scope of work includes behavioral health, child health & well-being, community health systems development, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, long-term services & support, population & global health, and rural health.

The center conducts, analyzes, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative research to connect decision-makers with the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisions about health policy and programs.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The SRA is a member of multiple research, policy development, technical assistance, and programmatic teams within COE. The SRA will provide leadership across content areas, with a focus on children’s behavioral health and will have a lead role in overseeing the daily operations and logistics of the team’s work.

The SRA will also manage the daily operations of grants and contracts within the organization’s matrix structure, actively support the success of staff and the team, develop new business, and develop / maintain relationships across a spectrum of partners.

In addition, one position primarily supports the COE as a senior advisor, working closely with the director of behavioral health and the COE Management Team in overseeing the portfolio of work for this team and developing the team’s research portfolio.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manages projects and project teams by providing leadership and administration for existing contracts and grants.
  • Leads the implementation of projects of varying size and complexity, including planning, organizing, and managing resources (staffing, budgets, project deliverables, relationships) to achieve specific project goals and objectives.
  • Manages the development of products such as policy papers, literature reviews, research papers, posters, presentations, briefs, and client reports.
  • Designs policy analysis and research / evaluation projects for clients.
  • Participates in development of the research portfolio for the COE team.
  • Guides program partners through all stages of evaluation planning and implementation.
  • Collects, links, and analyzes data (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Creates data visualizations.
  • Leads the design and implementation of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research.
  • Builds relationships with clients and external stakeholders, including state agencies, community groups, and academic partners.
  • Provide technical assistance to partners to support data use, decision-making, and capacity-building.
  • Translates data and findings for diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Navigates complex relationships between key funding and policy stakeholders relevant to work.
  • Facilitates group meetings to ensure that meeting goals and objectives are met.
  • Leads the development of creative solutions to complex health policy issues.
  • May supervise or mentor staff and student employees.
  • Identifies funding opportunities and leads grant writing teams.
  • Maintains existing relationships with external clients, stakeholders, and university-wide partners.
  • Leads meetings and represents the GHPC and COE at national conferences and events.

The salary for this position will range from $71,400 to $89,250. The position is sponsor-funded and is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications

Minimum Hiring Qualifications

Ph.D. with two years of experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications

Extensive experience in behavioral health, mixed methods research, working with stakeholder groups, strong writing and communication skills, and proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom).

Knowledge of human subjects research guidelines. Proficiency with Qualtrics, NVIVO, Tableau (data visualization), and a minimum of one statistical package (SAS, SPSS, Stata, or R are preferred).
