MKD Electric is seeking an experienced General Foreman . As part of this role
As a General Foreman, you will report to the Field Superintendent overseeing your department. You will be assigned projects to oversee with the underlying goals of ensuring the success of the project (as defined by our mission statement) as well as the development of the Foreman running the job.
You will ultimately be held responsible for the projects that are assigned to you. Your performance will be measured against the criteria listed below, as it relates to those projects.
You will be given specific goals on a job-by-job basis that will be driven by the Foreman's skill set. While training your Foreman on a key area (identified as your goal for the project) you will be responsible for fulfilling / driving any duties your Foreman is unable to complete.
Project Kick-Off
oComplete print study with Foreman
oCreate list of initial RFI’s with Foreman and submit to PM
oReview any specifications or standards for the project / site for the project
oAssist the Foreman in the building the initial plans for the project
oDocument rough manpower forecast for the project
Project Lifecycle
oAttend and participate in weekly project meetings
oConduct Project Based Evaluations as directed by the Field Superintendent
oField verify / track completion and quality of the following :
Safety
Near Miss Reporting
Planning
- 3-Week look ahead
- Constructability of Plan
- Material and Tool Procurement
Productivity
- Goal Setting
- Reported Install Rates
- Jobsite Setup
Documentation
- DPR’s
- QAQC
- Labor Tracking
- Changer Orders
- Project Closeout
oComplete Project Based Evaluations to document Foreman’s performance throughout project and review findings with Foreman
oUpdate Foreman OJT Tracker
oComplete Lessons Learned worksheet and participate in Project Closeout meetings (whenever applicable)
Additional Responsibilities
oConduct disciplinary action meetings
oAssist in driving company and / or group initiatives in the field
oAttend regular briefing and manpower coordination meetings with Field Superintendent
oCoordinate with other departments when needed (Safety, HR, etc.)
oCover other GF’s or Superintendents sites when the schedule dictates it
oDirect and oversee the training of employees as needed
oAssign, reward, or promote employees in accordance with company policies and procedures
oTransfer, suspend, lay-off, recall discipline, or discharge employees ub accordance with company policies and procedures
oAdjust grievances in accordance with company procedures
- Knowledge of OSHA and MKD safety standards.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code.
- Knowledge of A / C & D / C motors, A / C & D / C variable speed drive systems, motors, (single and three phase), motor control systems, P.
L.C. Systems, process control systems and industrial electronics, circuit boards, computer hardware and software.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, maintenance, and safe operation.
- Knowledge of procedures and principles for providing superior customer service.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Repair, test, adjust, or install electronic equipment, such as industrial controls, motors, variable frequency drive systems, motor controls, P.
L.C. systems, process control systems and industrial electronics, circuit boards.
- Install / connect electrical equipment to power circuit.
- Remove / disconnect electrical equipment from power circuit.
- Install repaired / replacement equipment in various industrial settings, such as refinery, printing plant, mill, steel service centers, etc.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
- Repair / replace and / or adjust equipment, machines, and defective parts.
- Troubleshooting : conduct sequential tests to locate electronic malfunctions, analyze operation of malfunctioning electrical equipment or systems.
- Conduit bending, terminations, and splices.
- Installation of electrical components, equipment, or systems.
- Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure proper and safe functioning.
- Selecting the appropriate tools for the job.
- Utilize electrical test equipment, such as calibration devices, voltmeter, ammeter, and ohmmeter.
- Plan / organize work.
- Coordinate efforts with other TM’s to successfully install / maintain equipment.
- Soldering welding.
- Reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Read / comprehend tape measure, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, work orders, instructions, formulas and processing charts.

- 10 years applicable field experience, 5 in supervisory capacity.
- Valid Government Issued Drivers License
- Proof of Work Authorization
