Northwestern Mutual is looking for a dynamic Lead Technical Program Manager to join our team and help us take our Enterprise Architecture processes and governance to the next level.

What You'll Do :

As a Lead Technical Program Manager- EA Governance and Strategy, you'll be at the heart of our mission to optimize and align our Enterprise Architecture processes across technology and business teams.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our operations are efficient, compliant, and poised for success. Here's how you'll make an impact :

  • Lead and align one or more complex programs consisting of multiple strategic efforts. Your ability to define program structure and create unified plans will drive us forward.
  • Connect the dots across technology and business teams to identify and manage interdependencies. Your coordination skills will ensure smooth, integrated workflows.
  • Gather, evaluate, and interpret KPI data to make informed recommendations. Your insights will be key to our strategic decision-making.
  • Drive clarity on objectives, priorities, and measures, ensuring everyone is aligned and moving towards our common goals.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues within programs, removing impediments and keeping us on track.
  • Influence and maintain strong governance standards that align with our organizational goals. Ensure our processes are not only effective but also compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Apply lean thinking to improve processes and encourage efficient, effective operations across the team.

Here's what you'll need to excel in this role :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Six or more years of program management experience in technology and / or business functions.
  • Functional understanding of tech architecture and enterprise governance.
  • Experience with program management methodologies & SDLC. Working knowledge of project management / agile tooling.
  • Experience managing large scale, cross-functional initiatives using a variety of delivery methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile, lean, scrum, etc.)
  • Leads highly visible multidisciplinary project teams or initiatives; provides thought leadership.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to dig into details, learn, ask questions and become the "go to expert" on certain concepts and topics.
  • Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general department policies and industry guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business leaders.
  • Capable of solving unique problems with a broad impact on the business, using conceptual and innovative thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
  • A history of high achievement in team-based and results-oriented environments. Ability to build strong relationships and drive change within a matrixed organization.

Compensation Range :

Pay Range - Start : $100,030.00

Pay Range - End : $185,770.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate;

the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
