Responsibilities :
- Assisting in translating the Sandstone culture
- Monitoring compliance of the culture
- Team member relations and communications
- Maintaining, growing and refining the new talent pipeline
- Assure review and development of current team members
- Support engagement expansion of the team
- Assure follow through on strategic initiatives and communication
- Other duties as periodically assigned
Culture :
- Based on understanding priorities and vision of Sandstone, represent the face of the Sandstone employment brand and culture through a consistent look, feel, and positioning of corporate communications.
- Administer and report on yearly engagement surveys and ensure topics identified by leadership are being followed through and communicated to the organization.
- Administer and report on yearly strategic goal communications of leadership, follow through of actions and communications to the organization.
- Culture Index internal expert - supporting staffing with each manager.
- Work with each manager to align job roles clearly with the right talent to fill those roles.
- Support managers with documentation of interactions with their team.
- Edit communication material for the organization on corporate initiatives and HR topics.
- Make administrative, procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
- Serve as a trusted communications best practices resource for the organization.
- Support and foster a diversified, safe and trusting work environment.
Team Member Relations :
- Be a sounding board for all team members, monitor trends and "hot spots" within the organization.
- Identify and alert management to issues among the team.
- Promote and facilitate a professional atmosphere.
- Reinforce high performance and behaviors consistent with the culture.
- Monitor and observe meetings to ensure communications and culture are upheld.
- Facilitate resolution of team member relation concerns including conflict resolution, harassment investigations, general complaints, and attendance issues.
- Lead with the VP of Operations on Union Negotiations.
- Assist managers in the proper termination process to ensure data provided is correct, consistent, and in line with company policies.
- Lead the new hire process including pre-employment documentation, training, and orientation.
- Assure compliance with all state and federal laws in all interactions with each team member.
- Support the termination process and be present when the manager delivers the message.
Talent Pipeline :
- Foster authentic and honest conversations with candidates about their role.
- Create job advertisements that appeal to the role and the Culture Index.
- Oversee and report on the recruiting process.
- Create a professional and positive interview experience and ensure interview processes are followed.
- Build productive business and community programs to assist with Sandstone employment brand awareness, recruiting, and engagement of the team.
- Establish a communication feedback loop with candidates that are "future fits" and build a strong pipeline of candidates for critical roles.
- Along with Senior Leadership, create long-term staffing and talent needs.
Team Member Development and Feedback :
- Participate in periodic review of staffing and staffing plans with managers.
- Assist managers with the development of skills needed for their team.
- Maintain Individual Development Plans and provide support for skill needs.
- Administer the database and report on reviews.

- Handle varied and moderately complex issues with little to no direct supervision.
- Use independent judgment and discretion within defined project goals to determine appropriate action.
- Active participant on the Safety Committee.
- Develop and recommend policies for approval by senior leaders.
- Monitor trends and changes in employment law and provide summary information to leadership.
- Monitor activities of the organization and assure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws.
- Participate in external surveys necessary to inform and benchmark the organization for competitiveness.
