GENERAL FUNCTION
Accurately transfer order information from internal and external customers to the Surface Lab and Anti-Reflect Room for processing.
This position is responsible for managing the combobulator and solving issues with problematic jobs. Interface with the IT Department on system issues and updates to the Digital Vision Inc.
DVI) optical manufacturing software. Communicate with proximity labs and / or external customers to make recommendations and provide solutions to any job issues.
This position is also responsible for receiving and costing sub-contracted vendor work into the DVI System.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive requests for price quotations, orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from internal customers and external uncut accounts.
Achieve and maintain rapport with customers and work to give them the best possible service.
- Understand product offerings and be able to communicate these both verbally and in writing.
- Able to retrieve customer information, stock and orders status information, and to make changes on customer purchase orders.
Ensures that correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting information.
- Responsible for understanding and communicating company policies and procedures, promotions and contracts in a professional manner to internal and external accounts.
- File and organize new and current product information.
- Responsible for accurately receiving and costing sub-contracted vendor work into the DVI system.
- Perform edits to correct order errors received from internal and external customers.
- Recommend possible solutions to make a job producible within internal specifications.
- Responsible for managing the combobulator cues and resolving issues with the Surface area combobulator.
- Resolve issues related to the prescriptor engine for all vendor products processed through the Surface area.
- Perform required preventive maintenance on office-related equipment. Responsible for ordering and maintaining correct levels of office supplies and job envelopes.
- Interface with the IT department to perform system updates. Responsible for handling the company backup tapes for the IT department that are stored off-site.
- Maintain the work area in a neat, clean and organized condition.
- Understand and follow all company and manufacturer’s policies and procedures and ensure compliance of all attendance & safety rules and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of all HIPPA and proprietary information.
Willingly assist others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines or maintain an even workload. Cooperate with other employees and demonstrates a good attitude.
Performs an acceptable quantity and quality of work on time as required.
- Provide proper training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers. Attend in-house or sponsored training meetings when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Basic use of laptop and informatic systems
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong reading, writing and verbal communication skills
- Customer service attitude
- Ability to lift and / or move up to 40 pounds
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A general knowledge of the optical industry is preferred
