Examples of Duties Performed :

  • Assist in the planning, organizing, directing and coordination of the Food Services Department.
  • Assists the Food Services Manager in providing food services that comply with current regulations (HS snacks, portion control, etc).
  • Assists in interviewing (at admission and periodic as needed) patient / family to obtain diet history / assessment, likes and dislikes etc.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of diet orders, understanding of NPO diet orders and ability to handle diet orders.
  • Demonstrates proper procedures for cleaning kitchen equipment such as carts, tables, counters, ice machine, buckets, blender, mixer, meat slicer, freezer, refrigerator, stove, oven, steamer, garbage disposal, dish machine coffee / tea maker and steam table.
  • Inventory and stock pantries and coders.

    • Requirements :

    To be considered for this opportunity applicants must :

  • Be a high school graduate or its equivalent.
  • Have at least one (1) year in healthcare or institutional food service in a supervisory capacity preferred, but not required.
  • Should have training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
  • Should enroll in a Food Safety Certification class within the first six months of employment.
  • Embrace the standards, values, and beliefs of the organization.
  • Possess ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Be capable of maintaining effective working relationships with patients, family members, staff, and fellow department heads.
