Lead Developer (Golang)

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Platform Development Lead for one of their large media and entertainment clients. You will be Leading a team of about 2-3 people and will be responsible for building and enhancing backend services delivering capabilities to frontend teams across web, mobile etc.

You also be responsible for projects revolved around modernizing all applications and middle layers and Video on Demand experiences.

This will be a contract role with opportunity to go perm. As the team lead, you are responsible for the platform development squad.

You will support your team members, provide them with opportunities to develop their career, and write code alongside them.

You are an expert problem solver and the go-to person to address roadblocks, conflicts, and miscommunication. You will maintain engineering quality, track team productivity, and control the pace of software development to meet business goals.

You will be reporting directly to the Director of Engineering and will split your time equally between hands on development with Golang / infrastructure code and leadership tasks.

Other responsibilities include documenting design specifications in Confluence, creating mock responses in Postman, advocating for and executing code improvements, and paying off technical debt.

As a Lead you will provide technical leadership to teammates through peer review, coaching, mentorship and will participate in spring ceremonies quarterly planning, and work sessions.

Required Skills & Experience

Recent experience with Golang development including knowledge of Goroutines, channels, and error handling

Recent Lead experience

Familiarity with containerization technologies like Kubernetes, CloudFormation, Terraform

Experience with developer tools including Postman, Jira, Confluence, GitHub & Datadog

Knowledge of RESTful API design principles, practices and microservices

Strong communication (written, verbal, presentational). Ability to insert yourself and work alongside teams throughout the organization.

Ability to adapt communication style based on audience
