Purpose of Role

The IMIT Director will be part of a new exciting opportunity to provide state of the art care for patients (both children and adults) with neuromusculoskeletal diagnoses utilizing the world's most advanced technology (Lokomat, Vector, etc.

in a physical therapy setting. The preferred candidate will be part of a team seeking to create opportunities for patient access, evaluate treatment plans, and work intensively with patients / clients to maximize outcomes.

The IMIT Clinical Director will work with Daemen's IMIT team and other partners to further develop the Institute for Mobility Innovation & Technology, which will feature the world's leading robotic devices and assistive technology.

This position requires a passion to work with individuals with neurologic diagnoses, attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and interest in growing a physical therapy practice.

The preferred candidate will be a neurologic clinical specialist and have at least five years of experience in the physical therapy field providing care for patients with neurologic impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions.

About This Opportunity

The IMIT Clinical Director will coordinate IMIT operations, including clinic policies and procedures, ongoing provision of PT services, patient / client recruitment and enrollment, oversight of training protocols and usage of IcMIT equipment, data collection and reporting.

Daily activities will include direct provision of services and coordination of the use and maintenance of IMIT equipment with partners.

Essential Functions

• Assists the IMIT in achieving an optimal level of productivity while ensuring delivery of quality patient care
• Manages and maintains warranties on identified equipment including scheduling preventive maintenance and repairs when necessary
• Identifies, implements, and monitors continuous improvement strategies
• Builds and maintains professional and collegial relationships with all partners.
• Coordinates interprofessional educational opportunities for students

Required Qualifications

• Physical Therapist graduate of an accredited program approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
• ABPTS Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) preferred (Geriatric or Pediatric Clinical Specialists may be considered)
• Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
• Active, unrestricted, PT license in NYS
• CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
• Administrative and / or management experience
• Must possess skill set to work within a collaborative group setting
• Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service and work with patients with a variety of pediatric, orthopedic, and neurological diagnoses
• Experience conducting and / or publishing research is a plus
