The Department of Surgery at Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center seeks to recruit for the full-time position of Chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
The successful candidate must be board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and will have exceptional leadership skills and a demonstrated capacity for expertise in a specific area of Colon and Rectal Surgery such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery for colon and rectal cancer, diverticular disease, ulcerative colitis, or Crohn’s disease.
This position will provide clinical care at BIDMC Boston and at hospitals affiliated with BIDMC. Responsibilities will also include teaching of medical students and surgery residents as well as clinical and / or basic research.
The position will engage in collaborative projects designed to study colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel diseases including Crohn's disease, along with advancements in surgery and prescription medication to improve the long-term survival for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease patients.
Appointment as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities.
