Location : San Francisco Bay Area

Role Overview : We are looking for a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Associate or Senior Associate to join our investment team.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and gain exposure to all aspects of the venture investment process.

You will play a critical role in sourcing new investments, conducting rigorous technical and business due diligence, developing deep thematic research, executing deals, and supporting portfolio companies post-investment.

Responsibilities :

Sourcing Investment Opportunities : Actively identify and engage with promising early-stage and growth-stage companies across a variety of sectors including artificial intelligence, enterprise software, digital health, value-based healthcare, blockchain, self-driving and quantum computing technologies.

This includes building relationships with founders and co-investors, attending industry events and maintaining and growing a network within the tech and venture ecosystems.

Due Diligence : Conduct comprehensive technical and business due diligence on potential investments. Evaluate market dynamics, customer needs, competitive landscapes, and the scalability of technology solutions.

Dive deep into technical evaluations, often rolling up your sleeves to understand the core technologies driving these companies.

Thematic Research : Collaborate with the team to define and explore investment themes unlocked by emerging or evolving technologies.

Independently research and develop insights that inform our investment strategy and support sourcing efforts.

• Financial Analysis and Modeling : Analyze the financial health and potential of prospective investments through financial modeling, valuation analysis, and scenario planning.
• Deal Execution : Work directly with partners throughout the investment process. Draft investment memos and other documents.

Assist with deal structuring and legal due diligence.

Qualifications : We are looking for candidates with diverse backgrounds who are passionate about investing, technology and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Specifically, we seek individuals with the following qualifications :

• Experience : Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience. We are particularly interested in candidates with one of the following backgrounds :
• Investment / Consulting Background : 2+ years of experience in investing (venture capital or other), investment banking, or consulting, complemented by either additional experience in technology or a technical or quantitative background or education
• Technology Industry Background : 2+ years in a multi-disciplinary role within a technology company (e.g., product management, strategy & operations or co-founder experience), complemented by additional experience or demonstrated passion for investing and business evaluation
• Skills : Strong analytical abilities, financial modeling proficiency, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Technical Due Diligence : Pascal Capital is known for going deep into the technical aspects of our investments. Candidates should be comfortable with and excited about evaluating deep tech companies, often delving into complex technologies and software systems.

Software engineering experience is a plus but not required

• Passion for Technology : A strong interest in emerging technologies and their potential to disrupt industries. A strong interest in innovative business models unlocked by new technologies.
• Entrepreneurial Spirit : Self-starter with a proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude. You should be comfortable working in a lean team and taking ownership of projects.

Compensation : Pascal Capital offers a competitive compensation package, including a combination of base salary, carried interest grants and performance-based grants.
