s (SPD), as well as internal benefits communications materials which may include developing content and managing communication projects for benefit plans
Provides benefits feature comparisons and cost analysis as part of the collective bargaining process
Analyzes benefit plans for US and Canada to be used in union negotiations, plan renewals and updates, and policy and process development
Serves as designated Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all benefits data, reporting, file feeds
Develops specifications, creates new files, and modifies existing files / reports; coordinates with HRIS for partnership and support and ensures accurate, timely revisions to files / reporting
Maintains benefits claim and payment data collection and complete weekly, monthly, and annual analysis for forecasting and planning
Leads leave management administration in partnership with external vendors.
Leads audit vendor coordination and analysis relating to planning audits including 5500 filings (Health & Welfare, Pension, 401(k) and Summary Annual Reports (SOX compliance, and ACA)
Conducts data collection and analysis related the due diligence data for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, as well as integration planning
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
5 - 8 years’ experience in Human Resources / Compensation / Total Rewards / Finance.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Detail and process oriented. Demonstrated analytical thinking skills.
Strong customer service and partnership orientation, both working with external vendors and employees.
Area of specialization (Retirement or Health & Welfare) in health & welfare plan design and funding methodologies, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Section 125, HIPAA and ACA or retirement plan design and funding (DC & DB)
Experience with US leave management administration
Current and is up to speed on legislative matters and implications for both US and Canada (specifically Ontario and Quebec provinces)
Experience partnering with external total reward consulting and brokerage firms.
Experience supporting unionized manufacturing locations
Experience in configurating, testing and implementing benefit enrollment within HRIS systems (Paycom is a plus)
Advanced level proficiency with MS Office Excel and PowerPoint; ability to create pivot tables, write conditional formulas and create charts and graphs to summarize data
Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and manage sensitive, confidential issues
Experience working in a private equity environment is a plus
Education and Language Requirements
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, such as accounting, finance, business administration, or human resources
Proficient in French is a plus
