Terraphase Engineering is seeking a full-time Staff Geotechnical Technician to join our team in our Woodinville, WA office.

The Role

  • Observe earthwork phase of construction. Coordinate with contractors and perform in-situ density tests.
  • Complete laboratory soil tests.
  • Assist in the preparation of site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safe work practices in the field, aligning with HASP and relevant regulations.
  • Position involves lifting and loading equipment from / to a vehicle.
  • Individual will use an assortment of hand tools (e.g., shovels, shop vacs, hand augers).
  • Must be able to manipulate a 55-gallon drum.
  • Will perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary.

Who You Are

  • Associate's degree or relevant certification in geotechnical sciences, environmental technology, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in geotechnical or environmental fieldwork.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and data entry software.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks in various field conditions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols.
  • Obtain and keep current all certifications / licenses required (i.e. 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training, Confined Spaces).
  • Ability to lift an average of 70 lbs.
  • Individual must be familiar with and able to use basic hand tools.
  • Must be flexible to changes in schedule and be available for on call status.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety Certificate
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training
  • CPR and First Aid Training.

Salary

Compensation for this position is based on years of experience, technical expertise, technical education, and geographic location with a range of $52,000 to $62,400.
