Description :

Responsible for designing computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, and other data communications systems.

Creates, tests, and evaluates networks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework.
  • Capable of assisting in the development of network bill and material for statement of work documents responding to customer requests for quote.
  • Design, test, and inspect data communications systems.
  • Perform network designs, analysis, and planning.
  • Capable to break down technical network solutions into a roadmap of changes for the network engineers which define the least risk for the business.
  • Capable to break down technical network solutions into language customer leadership can understand.
  • Capable of logging into network of devices, pulling configurations reviewing, and validating designs and solutions developed by the Architect.
  • Support the network engineers who are Installing hardware such as cables, hubs, routers, and wireless adaptors but is willing to assist in these task onsite as required.
  • Develop technology roadmaps.
  • Configure logging into network of devices installing network drivers for software.
  • Analyze, engineer, and execute network software functions with vendors and customer architects.
  • Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects.
  • Manage technology vendors and customer relationships.
  • Stay abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving competitors.
  • Write functional requirements / specifications documents with a focus being the subject management expert.
  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
  • Capable of upgrade network hardware and software components as required supporting the network engineers
  • Solve complex problems with many variables.
  • Willing to travel as required depending on the candidate’s location to Indianapolis, Indiana as needed. Travel will be kept to business needed only.
  • Able to support after hour network implementations supporting the network engineers.
  • Fully remote position unless travel is business required to customer site.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) preferred.
