JOB SUMMARY :

As a SQL Server DBA, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems.

You will be a member of a team that is tasked with ensuring the availability and consistent performance databases that support corporate applications.

This is a "hands-on" position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional responsibilities may include but not limited to providing technical support to development teams and individual throughout the corporate environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and / or ability required to perform the job successfully :

• Manage on-premise and cloud based MS SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems, including disaster recovery environments.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, availability and security.
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct database related issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS :

• 5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience
• Familiarity with Azure SQL, AWS RDB or other cloud administration
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and third party tools
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
• Working knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• Experience with developing and managing ETL solutions
• Knowledge of Windows server, including Active Directory
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to organize and plan work independently
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
• MCTS, MCITP, and / or MVP certifications a plus
