Description
This role is open to continuing students in the MSEM program only.
The Environmental Management Department is looking for one continuing MSEM student to be the Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Quantitative Methods (ENVM 603) course during the Fall 2024 semester.
ENVM 603 is taken by first year MSEM students and examines how statistical analysis is applied to environmental management challenges, from ecosystem conservation to clean-up of contamination.
The course includes unit analysis, probability and descriptive statistics, and hypothesis testing and inferential statistics pertinent to the environmental manager.
Through this course, students will gain critical perspectives on application of these quantitative tools and interpretation of the results for scientifically defensible decision-making.
Responsibilities :
Reviewing student assignments (The instructor will provide rubrics and guidance for grading)
Helping students with problem sets, assignments, and / or questions
Prompt return of graded assignments (no more than one-week turnaround)
Summarizing student performance for instructor (common mistakes, etc.)
Holding office hours and / or being available at other times to help students
Schedule
It is anticipated that the TA will work an average of 5 hours every other week for 8 weeks per semester, for a total of 20 hours per semester, during Fall 2024
Compensation
Graduate Students : $19.67 / hr
