They seek (3) Clinical Support Specialistresponsible for implementing statewide policies and operationalprocedures for the Clinical Staffing Process ensuring compliancewith Department and Children Family Services (DCFS)policies.
This role involves monitoring programstandards identifying performance issues and developingresolutions. The Specialist provides consultation and technicalassistance to Clinical Staffing Process team members permanencyworkers supervisors and other stakeholders to improve the qualityof the Clinical Staffing Process.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities :
- Collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator tofacilitate the Clinical Staffing Process as a critical Clinicalteam member.
- Engage youth biological familiescaregivers and other key stakeholders ensuring they are equalparticipants.
- Ensure a safe environment for allmeeting attendees encouraging open communication and sharing issuesconcerns and necessary interventions.
- Providepsychoeducation to youth families and caregivers asneeded.
- Empower youth and families by givingthem a voice during meetings decisionmakingprocess.
- Model best practices for Child andFamily Team Meetings ensuring team members understand theprocess.
- Provide ongoing support forimplementing action plans developed during meetings includingassisting with placement decisions and communication between theChild and Family Team Placement Team andproviders.
- Track and manage thematching / referral and preplacement interview processes for youthrequiring new placements or higher levels ofcare.
- Ensure all participants feel heard andvalued focusing the Clinical Staffing Process team on makingdecisions that prioritize the childs safety and wellbeing in theleast restrictive manner possible.
- Colead groupdiscussions ensuring all participants understand the meetingspurpose and have an opportunity tocontribute.
- Foster a supportive respectfulenvironment that encourages communication and manages conflicteffectively.
- Periodically summarize clarify andreframe discussions to ensure group alignment and assist inreaching quality decisions with safety and action plans inplace.
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of relevantlaws agency policies best practices and services monitor complianceand guide staff accordingly.
- Comanage themeeting process with the Clinical partner ensuring highqualitydecisionmaking and intervening whennecessary.
- Strive for consensus indecisionmaking recognizing the authority of DCFS staff to makefinal decisions when consensus cannot bereached.
- Ensure the accurate documentation ofdecisions and action plans developed duringmeetings.
- Contribute to team meetings andquality assurance efforts to foster a collaborative environment andensure the continuous improvement of the Clinical StaffingProcess.
Qualifications :
- A masters Degree in a Human Servicesrelatedfield with at least two years of relevant experience ispreferred.
- Strong computer skills and excellentwritten and verbal communication abilities areessential.
- Experience in healthcare or withJoint Commission safety standards ispreferred.
