Summary :
A RN Specialty - Procedure nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing care and is
accountable for utilizing the nursing process to care for patients pre procedure, as well as during
the procedure, and post procedure. The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning,
organizing, and administering care within the scope of his / her training and expertise. The
Registered Nurse is responsible for collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and
efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes, coordinating
services for the unit and acting as a resource person for other team members. This is done in
conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the
state of Arkansas. The nurse is expected to demonstrate clinical competence and critical
thinking.
Other information :
The Procedure nurse will assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during procedures,
working outside the procedure room prepping for procedures, documenting procedures,
monitoring perioperative pre and post care. The RN Specialty nurse carefully monitors the
condition of patients during the procedure observing the patient for side effects, including
neurological assessments.
This job will be authorized 0.08 hours bi-weekly.
