As a part of our growth plans, we are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in database to join the Global QA team.

Experience with Hadoop and NoSQL is a significant plus. The job is a unique opportunity and requires a creative engineer who can build and execute QA plans and processes.

The challenge is in testing the boundaries of Actian’s products as deployed on customer premises or in the cloud. Familiarity with standard QA tools is a must and discipline to follow global engineering processes is expected.

Primary Responsibilities :

As a member of the global QA team, execute manual or automated tests and evaluate quality of our products pre-release.

Develop test plans, strategies and test execution and analyze and report results

Participate with developers during the concept and design phase of feature development

Maintain the bug database and bug life cycle to ensure timely verification of bug fixes

File well documented bug tickets that allow for reproducibility

Design, develop and extend test framework and test automation

Provide assistance to Technical Support as required.

Qualifications :

Graduate or Post-graduate engineering degree. Computer Science preferable.

Minimum of 5 years of database of data warehouse product testing experience.

Specific experience with database products such as Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server, or MySQL on both an administrative and user basis

Specific experience with database products such as Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server, or MySQL on both an administrative and user basis

Experienced in SQL with ability to write queries, design schema, write stored procedures

Experience with Business Intelligence products such as Microstrategy, Cognos, Business Objects and / or ETL technologies like Informatica.

Experienced in scripting languages such as Python

Ability to understand and synthesize requirements to produce test plans and tests

Experience and / or ability of working in a global environment
