Origis Energy is seeking an experienced M&A executive to lead and execute the company’s utility scale solar and energy storage business growth strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of sourcing, evaluating, structuring, negotiating, and closing attractive project and portfolio acquisitions.
The position will serve an integral, leadership role overseeing a high performing M&A team responsible for all aspects of profitable growth and expansion via mergers and acquisitions.
The role provides an opportunity to join a leading, vertically integrated renewable energy developer with an extensive and growing pipeline of utility scale solar and energy storage projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute the companies M&A strategies in alignment with growth and shareholder return objectives
- Lead the origination, analysis, structuring, documentation, and execution of utility scale solar and storage project acquisitions and dispositions
- Analyze different markets : (1) political / regulatory environment, (2) the legal and tax environment, (3) electricity markets from a financial, legal, supplier and infrastructure point of view, and (4) conclude on the overall attractiveness of a market for investment
- Establish and maintain relationships with advisors, brokers, and developers to source attractive acquisition opportunities as well as counterparties for dispositions aligned to business objectives and underwriting criteria
- Perform project due diligence across various functional areas including Finance, EPC, O&M, asset management, interconnection, real estate, permitting, environmental, and insurance
- Work with in-house and external counsel to review, negotiate and close purchase and sale agreements, joint development, and partnership agreements
- Manage post-acquisition development, financing, and commercial obligations and activities
- Communicate with other departments including Development, Origination, Project Finance, Engineering, FP&A, and Accounting on transaction details as well as business planning and work processes
- Prepare presentations and analysis necessary to obtain internal investment committee and BOD approvals
- Maintain opportunity pipeline reporting, as well as department budgets, forecasts, and acquisition financing needs
- Explore, and lead improvements in acquisition opportunity screening and analysis
- Be responsible for various internal administrative functions which are required to support acquisitions
- Provides hands-on leadership, guidance, mentorship, training, development, and performance management to the M&A staff
- Ensures that the M&A team is optimally sized and structured to support the needs of the business
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related
- Minimum 10 (ten) years of relevant renewable energy industry experience in business development, M&A, project finance, or corporate development
- Experience serving in an executive leadership role; preferably in a renewable energy development or IPP firm
- Advanced knowledge of solar, solar + storage, and stand-alone storage markets and economics
- Established relationships with renewable sector advisors, brokers, and developers
- Experience in Financial Modeling and Valuation of relevant projects and markets; including advanced Excel skills
- Strong commercial, technical, analytical, and creative transaction structuring abilities
- Rigorous and detailed orientated with the highest regard for accuracy and completeness
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in an integrated team environment

Travel Up to 30% travel as necessary
