Come join an amazing team committed to serving God and loving people by loving God and serving people. This position would be responsible for coordinating ministry for Elementary School Children at a growing United Methodist Church.
This person would be on a team responsible for ministry with the next generation that includes but is not limited to children, youth, and young adults.
We believe in ministry that looks at the spiritual needs of families and works to lead ministry in teams.
This position includes mandatory hours on Sunday Mornings and Monday evenings. Other hours can be negotiated.
The ideal candidate loves children and is looking for a place to develop their own faith by teaching the Next Generation about Jesus.
They will be organized, passionate, positive, and loving. We are looking for a team player who wants to make a difference in the world.
Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Develops and coordinates transformative ministry with Elementary School Children throughout the year for all ages and genders to include Sunday morning programing, weekly small groups, retreats, mission trips, and fellowship events.
- Leads, organizes and plans annual events including but not limited to Children’s Christmas Eve Service, Palmapalooza, VBS and Pumpkin Bash or Treat.
- Develops, recruits, and supports a team of student and adult leaders to assist with programming and events.
- Assists Director of NextGen in managing the budget for NextGen Ministries.
- Maintains effective communication with NextGen staff, children, students, parents, volunteers, and church congregation through phone calls, emails, texts, social media, and more.
- Completes the position’s administrative duties including but not limited to updating church database, calendar, and keeping accurate attendance records.
- Completes other duties as assigned that assist in fulfilling the mission of NextGen, the Mission Statement of the UMC and the strategic focus of AUMC.
- Will act in compliance to the current UMC Book of Discipline and the current AUMC Employee Handbook and the leadership of Acworth UMC.
