JOB SUMMARY
Works under minimal supervision of the Director to provide supervision for eye and tissue donor screening, outreach, and education functions of the Transplant Services Center (TSC) in accordance with the policies and procedures of Transplant Services Center and the standards of the American Association of Tissue Banks and the Eye Bank Association of America.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
Education
Completion of two years of college, to include at least six (6) credit hours in basic science
Experience
5 years of experience in a clinical healthcare setting, preferably in organ, eye, or tissue banking
Candidates without the stated minimum education, but with an additional two (2) or more years' experience in screening and authorization in organ, eye, or tissue banking may be considered.
Preferred
Experience
Prior supervisory experience and licensure as a Registered Nurse strongly preferred.

JOB DUTIES
- Directs, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates programs for donor screening and authorization, outreach. and education for eye and tissue donation.
- Recruits, selects, and supervises appropriately qualified staff to perform donor screening and authorization, outreach and education for eye and tissue donation
- Establishes and maintains contracts for eye and tissue donor recovery with hospitals in TSC's service area.
- Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal departments and external organizations associated with eye and tissue donation
- Establishes education and donor screening program objectives and goals; directs program evaluation and quality control activities;
develops and approves schedule, priorities, and standards for achieving goals.
- Coordinates training, competency and development of staff involved in donor screening, outreach and education.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, FDA regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies and procedures.
Recommends new policies and procedures and / or revisions of current policies and procedures for improvement of donor screening and education programs.
- Directs and oversees projects and event planning as assigned.
- Facilitates teamwork through planned group processes, i.e. workshops, seminars, and staff meetings.
- Performs hospital and public education on eye and tissue donation as needed.
- Performs donor screening and authorization as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
