POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategically manages multiple complicated, escalated, or aged accounts by investigating, validating, and resolving discrepancies or disputes by working with both CPKC’s internal & external customers.
Builds and maintains collaborative relationships
- Drills down to the root cause to resolve complex issues ensuring a go-forward process is in place
- Builds business cases to support the resolution of accounts
- Leads projects and performs other duties as may be assigned. Provides subject matter expertise and support functions to other departments or projects
- Timely monitoring and collecting on own portfolio of past due receivables while maintaining confidentiality and protecting CPKC’s financial position
- Adherence to daily targets and departmental objectives
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Business Administration
- Three years’ experience in a collections or related role
- Railroad or transportation experience preferred
- Project experience considered an asset
- Proven history of driving results in receivables reduction
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
- SAP system (ECC & S4) knowledge is an asset
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills with a proven ability to deliver results
- Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
- Strong situational awareness
- Effective communicator both verbal and written with both internal and external contacts at all levels
- Ability to critically think through complex problems and offer solutions
