South & Western General Agency seeks an Underwriting Assistant in Addison, TX.

Under guidance of a manager, individual whose primary function includes carrying out technical and administrative binding authority underwriting functions to determine acceptability of business and the integrity of underwriting practices.

Underwriter at entry level or intermediate level of position / difficulty.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

• Review new business applications to confirm that information is appropriate to determine binding authority underwriting actions within authorities granted.
• Review all risks for new and renewal business for any securities law practice exposure.
• May rmend acceptance or declination of risks according to established guidelines.
• Files and creates reports, appeals, processes, files, correspondence, or contacts as assigned.
• Rmend methods for promotion of policies or improvements to processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED :

• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• 1 - 3 years experience in a similar position
• Great attention to detail
