Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that printed materials meet quality standards and specifications.

This role involves conducting thorough inspections of printed products, identifying defects or inconsistencies, and implementing corrective measures to maintain product integrity.

Additionally, you will actively participate in process monitoring, root cause analysis, and quality improvement initiatives to uphold production standards and champion changes in workflows.

The Quality Control Technician plays a vital role in upholding the reputation of the company by delivering high-quality printed materials to clients.

Requirements :

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect manufactured products to ensure accuracy of produced item when compared to pdf proof or color printout.
  • Ensure all specifications match the produced item i.e. size, color, material, shape, etc.
  • Read and review materials, such as job tickets, PDF proofs, and any other special instructions that pertain to the job requirements.
  • Aid in the production area to ensure a quality product is being produced; communicate and document findings of any non-conforming product.
  • Monitor or observe current processes to ensure that they meet production standards.
  • Ensure plant associates are operating within the process structure.
  • Determine quality improvement opportunities by collecting and reviewing data.
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis / Corrective Actions
  • Attend Production meetings and relay accurate information to the team.
  • Demonstrate ability to champion changes in production workflows, processes, and reporting requirements.
  • Accurately perform and document final inspection activities in accordance with procedural requirements which include reviewing job specifications and verifying copy, case counts, and label content.
  • Clearly communicate quality issues, defects or shortages to key personnel and properly segregate the affected product.
  • Perform rework and sorting activities as appropriate.
  • Possess proficient knowledge and application of various inspection techniques and testing instruments, including scanning, rub-testing, barcode scanners, weigh count scales, and score and bend testing.
  • Assist in validations of processes and equipment, where needed.
  • Follow standard operating procedures according to the department's guidelines.
  • Consistently make decisions demonstrating regard for our customer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education, Experience, License / Certifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 months quality control experience in manufacturing preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Proficient in written and spoken English, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient math and computer skills.
  • Meticulous diligence, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a high-speed environment.
  • Ability to learn new software and tools to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
  • Demonstrated capability for collaborative work within a team environment.

Compensation :

The base compensation range for this full-time position is $18-$35 per hour plus benefits. Compensation ranges are determined by numerous factors, including role, experience, and location.

The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
