POSITION SUMMARY
The CDL Test Examiner is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the integrity of the licensing test for prospective CDL holders, in accordance with state and federal regulations.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Administer all components of CDL Licensing testing process in accordance with state and federal regulations, including pre-trip inspection, parking maneuvers, and road-driving skills.
- Verify accuracy and completeness to assess students ability to perform to standards tested
- Record and upload test results into national testing database to ensure students are eligible to receive their CDL
- Prepare work facility for daily operations and / or close of business
- Inspect vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and safety as per company policies
- Operate CDL Vehicles along scheduled routes (i.e. tractor trailers, busses, bobtail trucks, etc.)
- Attend training programs as required by state and federal regulations or procedures
- Confer with Test coordinator and Lead Examiner to exchange information or to resolve problems
- Meet with individuals involved in legal processes to provide information and clarify issues
- Direct student activities during examination and provide technical guidance as necessary
- Other related duties as assigned

- Knowledge of matters relating to truck and vehicle safety
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A and a clean driving record required
- At least three years of CDL driving experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, speaking, walking, driving, writing, and / or sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to climb into and out of a truck safely
- Ability to notice details at close and far ranges
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at a time
- Perform work with OSHA required PPE; Including COVID19 PPE
