Starting salary may be at a rate between the minimum and maximum salary range listed above, based on qualifications.
Independently performs the full range of education, training and resource development functions for judges and non-judicial Judiciary personnel, including extensive clerical support for office tasks and activities.
Assists the Judicial Education Officer in the development of comprehensive education, training, and resource development plans for Judiciary personnel (i.
e., judicial conferences and staff training sessions); obtains training materials, coordinates consultant services, and contacts training facilities to provide courses to meet the education and training needs of Judiciary personnel.
The position researches, designs, develops, coordinates, implements, and teaches courses in specific subject areas as directed to Judiciary personnel, including in-person, live web-based, and on-demand web-based programs utilizing virtual platforms;
and performs other duties as required.
Education Requirements :
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a baccalaureate degree.
Excess work experience of the kind and quality described below or other administrative, professional or analytical work may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four (4) years.
Specialized Experience :
Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional training and / or teaching work experience in one or a combination of the areas described below :
- Conducting management and / or employee educational development programs as a professional instructor;
- Providing formal classroom instruction gained as a teacher in a school system, or an instructor at the college or university level, which included the development of lesson plans.
Non-qualifying experience :
- Teaching work experience of general interest subjects which did not require the knowledge and application of principles and practices of education and learning, and instructional methods and materials, or which did not require assessment, evaluation and measurement of student progress is not qualifying.
- Clerical or paraprofessional experience in a program or educational institution involving work which is limited to assisting teachers / education specialists;
e.g., teacher’s aide, education assistant; or work comparable to the aforementioned occupations is not qualifying.
Substitutions Allowed :
- Possession of a Fifth Year teaching certificate from an accredited four (4) year college or university or possession of a Master’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited four (4) year college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of the required Specialized Experience.
- Graduation from an accredited school of law recognized by the American Bar Association with a Juris Doctor degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the required Specialized Experience.
- Possession of a Ph.D. in education or a related field from an accredited four (4) year college or university may be substituted for two (2) years of the Specialized Experience.
