Material Handler Lead

1St shift - Mo - Fri : 7 am - 3 pm

Brook and Whittle is a growing Label Manufacturing Company. Come and join our Team as a Material Handler / Driver or a Material Handler Lead.

The lead will be responsible for ensuring that work is being performed based on business and departmental needs.

Material Handler / Driver Primary Functions and Responsibilities

• Reads shipping orders to determine items to be gathered, staged and assembled.
• Conveys materials from receiving area to production or storage.
• Sorts, places items on storage racks.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Operates forklift, reach trucks, electric pallet jack, clamp trucks, pump jacks, hand trucks, or dolly to convey items;

drives 35ft. box trucks.

• Safely loads and unloads trucks (after successfully passing forklift training and test).
• Manage phase in / out of materials to minimize risk of obsolete stock.
• Maintain cycle counts and reconcile results to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Participate in the annual physical inventory count team as assigned.
• Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods.
• Confirm physical shipment of goods and facilitate tracking of packages.
• Assist & evaluates needs with shipping points, services, weights & freight permits and other information needs.
• Receive inventory : Verify product and quantity received is accurate.
• Process in-bound and out-bound shipments.
• Maintain accurate records of all items shipped and received.
• Prepare shipping documents.
• Verify returns from customers.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.
• Completing daily shift duties.
• Maintaining cleanliness of dock and receiving area.
• Assists in training individuals and other team members as assigned.
• Complies with established safety procedures and policies.
• Works with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and / or validations.
• Focuses on Continuous Improvement, Quality, Improved Cycle Times, Safety, Cost Reductions, and Customer Satisfaction.
• Complies with company policies, procedures, and core processes.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Material Handler / Driver Job Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 20-30 pounds continuously, the ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to stand and / or be mobile for the majority of the shift
• Efficient use of computer.
• Communicate effectively over the telephone.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
• Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
• Must be detail oriented and have excellent, quality driven work habits.
• Willingness to work overtime, and if needed, holidays and weekends.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and back ground check.
• Must have a valid driver's license

Salary Description

$18 - $23
