Position Information
The Department of Athletics invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, contractual position limited with benefits.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. UMES sponsors 14 Division I varsity sports with approximately student-athletes. Responsibilities
- Determines academic eligibility for practice and competition.
- Ensures conference office certification deadlines are met.
- Updates student-athlete information in Compliance Assistant 2.0.
- Enters and monitors prospective student-athlete information related to initial eligibility in the NCAA Eligibility Center portal.
- Creates and disseminates eligibility reports to coaches and applicable staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Classification 25- Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One-year experience working with NCAA regulations regarding eligibility (Bylaw 14) .
- Experience with degree auditing or academic advising.
Preferred Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledgeable of NCAA regulations regarding eligibility (Bylaw 14).
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
