Position Summary :
The Regional Account Manager / Customer Team Leader (Grocery Central) is responsible for developing and delivering profitable & sustainable volume growth with Meijer, Hyvee, Schnucks, Certco, Fareway, Woodman's, Piggly Wiggly Mid-West and Save-A-Lot.
The Regional Account Manager / Customer Team Leader works directly with the customers and with our broker partner(s) to effectively execute Welch's sales strategies.
Where You'll Work
This is a remote based position, with the ideal location to be in the greater Chicago, IL area or in upper Midwest states near a commercial airport centrally located for serving our customers.
What You'll Do :
- Owns the development and execution of the platform & customer specific business plan
- Identifies business opportunities, sets, and communicates priorities, and coordinates with Welch's internal team and other necessary resources to achieve desired results
- Develop, execute, and monitor Joint Business Goals with customers listed above
- Effectively influences and develops relationships with customer listed above to ensure Welch's has access to key decision makers
- Establish local market priorities, goals, and strategies to guide broker development (where applicable) that deliver Welch's business priorities
- Manage trade budget and establish post-promotional process to deliver spending efficiencies to maximize ROI
- Responsible for execution of everyday business in partnership with key account, including new item setup, inventory management, and supply chain solutions
- Forecast monthly sales to ensure the demand, financial, and sales planning teams are aligned to volume and trade needs of the customer
Who You Are :
- Sales skills including negotiation, account management, business development, strategic selling, forecasting, category management, and strategic forward-thinking sales strategies
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and manage mutually beneficial relationships
- Thoroughly understands the retail food industry.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills and ability to manage change throughout the Welch's organization
- Ability to interact and influence at all levels of management, including senior leadership.
- Solid financial acumen with the ability to assess options, and drive P&L performance
- Solutions oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Technical proficiency in a variety of PC-based applications and hardware.
What You'll Need :
- Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience that proves capability to perform in the role may be considered.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role focused on the food / beverage industry
- Experience calling on customers in the CPG industry
- Experience managing broker relationships and / or direct people management
- Up to 25% travel required
