An established healthcare organization in Georgia is looking to hire an Information Security Analyst to join its growing team.
This is a remote role with occasional site visits to their HQ, 45 minus south east of Atlanta. Candidates MUST reside in Georgia to be considered.
SUMMARY
The Junior Security Administrator position requires an individual with entry-level experience in technical and information security skills.
Under minimal supervision, this individual will work to keep all systems secure, protect systems from unauthorized access and modifications, and apply critical thinking skills to all tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and multi-task with a strong attention to detail. This includes the prioritization and resolution of tickets and requests;
all the while following documented operating procedures and customer services.
- Performs vulnerability scans, identifies threats, and implements defenses to safeguard systems.
- Maintains knowledge of the security threat landscape.
- Assists with ensuring software, workstations, and servers are updated with latest security patches and ensuring all network resources are properly defended.
- Analyzes security requirements and recommends improvements.
- Assists with development technology-based solutions to solve operational problems.
- Responsible for the accurate documentation while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality regarding sensitive information and data pertaining to system security.
- Participates in routine audits to ensure industry best practices are being followed across a variety of processes and technologies.
- Improve customer service with the ability to seek opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Assists with managing the Change Management environment.
- Ability to create departmental documentation (e.g., job aids, SOP's, etc.).
- Utilizes strong verbal skills to document remediation actions, incident responses, and security improvements.
- Assists in identifying and preventing threats through a wide range of security tools including SIEM and EDR solutions.
- Provides advanced technical support and functions as a mentor to lower-level analysts, willing to assist and / or train other team members when assistance is needed.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Responsible for an ongoing pursuit of knowledge, necessary to improve the support provided to the System and affiliated health services, through formal training, self-motivated informal research on industry related trends and breaking news.
- Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
- Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
- Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of work experience or completion of a related four-year degree.
- Additional consideration is given to those possessing relevant certifications, such as :
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows operating systems across computing platforms (e.g., laptops, tablets, servers, and desktop computers).
- Ability to field the diagnosing and troubleshooting of incoming customer requests and incidents via the phone and e-mail.
- Working knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple requests with frequently conflicting priorities.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences via phone, email, and an internal ticketing system.
- Basic understanding of Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with security tools such as, vulnerability scanners, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
- Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) components such as Active Directory, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions.
