We seek a skilled Waste Stream Coordinator to contribute to the success of our customers by ensuring effective product launches and safety.
This full-time, hourly position will be at our Chaska, MN production facility (134 Columbia Ct N, Chaska, MN 55318) and on our day shift, Monday through Friday, 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 00 PM.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
1. Handle all chemical waste in the Chaska facility.
- Practice safe working techniques and safe handling of chemicals.
- Proper handling, labeling, and storing of waste.
- Annually attend required trainings to ensure certifications are up to date.
- Follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and wastes.
2. Maintain areas related to waste and recycling.
- Maintain the empty tote recycling trailer and surrounding areas, including the bulk tote area. Keeping reusable totes separate from empty totes to be recycled.
- Keep the waste bubble organized and clean following work standard.
- Pull reports, perform pulls, consolidate and prep for waste trucks for disposal
- Load waste trucks and sign manifests
- Complete waste area checklists, and housekeeping checklists.
3. Maintain the chemical bulk tanks for pre-weigh
- Unloading tankers
- Weigh bulk chemicals for pre-weigh when requests are received
4. Perform other work as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification and Skill Requirements
Prior Experience : At least one year of experience in hazardous waste management is preferred.
Knowledge Requirements
- The skill set to multi-task and prioritize several tasks simultaneously.
- Competence to work independently as well as work within a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to understand specifications, complete training programs, and ensure process adherence.
- Knowledge of the following computer programs : Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Alliance MRP, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety data sheets (SDS), safety rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
Licenses and Certifications
- Forklift license is required and maintained. This can be obtained at the start of employment within the first week.
- RCRA / DOT Certifications are required and maintained. This can be obtained and completed within 30 days of the start of employment.
