Senior User Researcher - Data Ventures

We're building Walmart Data Ventures from the ground up, and Design Research is critical to our foundation. Our data products serve millions of customers, suppliers, and associates across our unique user ecosystem.

Join our mission of crafting world class data experiences with them, for them. We balance discovery with delivery to establish north stars while delivering incremental value to our customers.

As a Senior User Researcher , you will uncover new opportunities and inform the strategic direction of our products and services.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to explore new possibilities and define the future of our offerings. By leveraging your deep knowledge of the User Research process, you will guide product direction toward successful outcomes for both our users and our business.

We're seeking entrepreneurial individuals to help define our products from concept to deployment.

What you'll do :

  • Lead strategic and exploratory research initiatives to identify new opportunities and inform product strategy
  • Use a variety of research methods, such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic field studies, to gather deep insights
  • Facilitate workshops to translate research findings into strategic opportunities and actionable recommendations
  • Proactively communicate and present research findings to the product team in compelling and actionable formats
  • Inspire cross-functional partners to think big, leveraging research insights to ground decisions in user needs and wants
  • Foster a culture of user empathy and human-centered product development across the company, helping teams understand and prioritize user needs
  • Encourage and support the involvement of non-research team members as active participants in the research process
  • Collaborate with more junior colleagues and non-researchers, helping guide, shape, and mentor their work

Qualifications :

  • Expertise in a variety of research methods, such as usability studies, interviews, surveys, user testing, and ethnographic research
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and influence product strategy and design decisions
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Deep understanding of human-centered design and product development
  • Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of professional research experience, or master's degree with 3-5 years of professional research experience, or 7+ years of professional research experience
  • Work samples that showcase your research experience and approach

Hoboken, New Jersey US-10279 : The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00

San Bruno, California US-04398 : The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-09401 : The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1 : Bachelor's degree in UI / UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 3 years' experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.

Option 2 : 5 years' experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.

As permitted by applicable law, provide evidence of full vaccination as defined by CDC guidelines OR secure approval of medical or religious accommodation for the vaccination mandate.

Driving product development in a design research area, Market Research, Business Analysis, UX Design Research, or related area, Master's degree in UI / UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area, Related industry experience (for example, retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare), Research or design certification (for example, IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate), We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.

2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
