Job Description
The Child Welfare Research and Training Project (CWRTP) within the Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) department in the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Assurance Specialist and Facilitator Liaison.
This position is part of the Service Training Team and will take the lead in implementing and monitoring the Learning Outcomes Improvement Plan (LOIP) for CWRTP’s long-standing contract with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (IHHS).
The Service Training Team administers the IHHS child welfare field staff training program, providing instructional design, training support, quality assurance, and contracting with subject matter experts for facilitation.
This position actively collaborates with trainers, instructional design specialists, subject matter experts, and IHHS partners to plan, develop, test, and evaluate instructional content, technical documents, and strategies for delivering training to adult learners.
They will be the primary point of contact for subject matter experts and IHHS trainers, providing feedback on how to improve the quality of the in-person and virtual training, conducting analysis on course evaluations, and ensuring quality and timely delivery of training materials.
They will create the training calendar to best meet the needs of the field staff, facilitators, and IHHS. Additionally, they shall work together with the Instructional Designer to ensure alignment of course components and provide input on materials development for training, including PowerPoints, handouts, facilitator guides, and activities.
This position works closely with graduate research assistants and the Team Lead on program evaluations. The chosen candidate will provide in-person and virtual training support as assigned and may require travel across the State of Iowa.

Example of Duties

- Be the primary point of contact for subject matter experts and IHHS trainers, providing feedback on how to improve the quality of the in-person and virtual training, conducting analysis on course evaluations, and ensuring quality and timely delivery of training materials.
- Create the training calendar to best meet the needs of the field staff, facilitators, and IHHS.
- Work with the Instructional Designer to ensure alignment of course components and provide input on materials development for training, including PowerPoints, handouts, facilitator guides, and activities.
- Provide in-person and virtual training support as assigned and may require travel across the State of Iowa.
- Monitor and record inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms and assists in the development of new methods and procedures.
- Liaise with training facilitators to oversee training development processes and ensure training course components are delivered on time.
- Conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis on training evaluations and other research to ensure training quality.
- Schedule, lead, document, and follow up on Annual Course Reviews, quarterly feedback data meetings, and course planning meetings.
- Provide day-of training support, both virtual and in-person, as assigned.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
