Role / Responsibilities
The Sourcing Specialist is part of the Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) & Capital sourcing team which manages the sourcing needs for a group of business / function category teams or on a project basis.
Negotiate spot purchases for capital projects implement contracts and manage related work processes typically on large international capital projects
Creates value by providing appropriate input into the development and implementation of sourcing strategies as well as for the implementation of commercial agreements and spot purchase orders.
Responsible for various sourcing activities pertaining to running the business and contract management as well as providing support for the Supply Manager in implementing and executing strategy and agreements
Targeted discipline commodity focus for this role is Engineered Equipment (Process Containment Equipment (PCE) Mechanical or / Electrical)
Support all clients in the business and functions that these category areas support by applying market knowledge and tactical negotiation skills the main objective will be to add value to the discipline commodity you will be sourcing and to maximize value delivery to Businesses and the Global Engineering Solutions organization
Where applicable, may draft negotiate and ultimately own a contract with a supplier
Key team member within one or more commodity areas receiving functional leadership from various Capital / MRO Purchasing Leaders and respective Sourcing Manager(s) while reporting administratively to the Global Capital Purchasing Resource Leader

Utilize available Sourcing tools to the fullest capability to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Purchasing process
Assist with the prequalification and site access processes related to on-site labor including securement of Hold Harmless / Proof of Insurance documentation
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and effectively manage quality service / product performance issues with suppliers
Intervene with suppliers on applicable quality and performance issues at the request of clients or as identified via Supplier Management Action teams (SMATs)
Interface with the Global Purchasing Service Center and Payables to resolve issues concerning purchase order placement for assigned commodities or labor services.
Interface with the materials coordinators and project procurement leads and coordinators to ensure approved supply strategies standard work processes and proper spend delegation of authority are used
Education / Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
5 + years industrial experience
Exposure with dynamic results oriented Engineering Procurement Construction Management teams across Petrochemical and / or Oil and Gas industries
Microsoft
SAP Preferred
