Job Description
McBoss stands for Marine Corp Business Operations Support Services that is a multi-platform, cloud-enabled environment which allows customers in the Navy and Marines to access and build applications for Marine Corp and Navy use.
These services are being leveraged on multiple teams that support security, operations, container applications, and built within a DevSecOps lifecycle.
It is a PaaS (Platform as a Service) model that develops and modernizes new systems and applications with the policies within the DoD Directive for Information Technology implementation and portfolio management.
The mission of the U.S. Marines is to analyze, develop, and direct the Marine Corps' energy strategy in order to optimize expeditionary capabilities across all warfighting functions.
Leads the software implementation of smaller systems or sub-systems of complex systems given a high-level software architecture.
Translates the software architecture and requirements in to low-level designs and implementation strategies. Selects programming languages, frameworks, and tools appropriate to implement the software architecture and meet requirements.
Leads one or more teams responsible for implementing software systems.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or relevant field).
- Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.
- Three (3) years of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area.
- Experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.
g. agile, DEVOPS / DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
