Primary responsibilities of the Controller include :
- Manage all aspects of corporate accounting, including month-end close process, invoicing, AP / AR, cash flow projects and cost accounting.
- Provide oversight and support to Leadership, Project Managers, and field operations on all financial reporting and compliance processes.
- Focuses of role is evaluating construction job costs, data reporting / analysis, budgeting / forecasting, and revenue recognition.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations.
- Lead finance forecast reviews and validations, analyze data trends to identify and quantify financial risks and opportunities.
- Manage legal contracts, tax obligations, leases and loan / debt covenants.
- Lead, mentor, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the accounting team.
Ideal skills and experience for the Controller :
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
- CPA or advanced degree a plus
- At least 7+ years in a relevant leadership position
- Experience in a job or project cost environment in construction or manufacturing
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and advanced formulas (e.g. vlookup, sumif, index match).
